THE POWER OF DEMOCRACY- UNIABUJA STUDENTS TURNS BACK TO CLASSROOM FROM THE MAINROAD AS GOVERNMENT GRANTS REQUEST

The Students of the University of Abuja(UNIABJ), expressed boundless gratitude to the federal government after lifting the suspension earlier issued on her Professional courses earlier this week which lists; Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture and Veterinary medicine for failure to provide the required facilities for such courses despite the Ultimatum attached.

This occurred after the students have taken to the street in an all day protest against the ban. According to the students, they are not meant to pay the costly price for the Institution's failure to meet up with its responsibilities/expectation. The students in their revolt and disapproval of the action, barricaded the Umaru Musa Yar'adua expressway in Abuja, a situation which effected the expected response.

The minister of Education, professor ruqqayatu who disclosed the reversal of the ban on behalf of the federal government however included that the action was conditional, and that the Institution has only 6 months to provide various required facilities for each of the suspended programmes, else face a worse problems in future.
